From New Jersey AFL-CIO
We still need action.
Our frontline heroes are getting sick on the job, but they must prove that their infection with COVID-19 coronavirus was job-related to get their well-deserved benefits. A bill before the state Assembly — A-3999 — would take the “burden of proof” off the worker and set up a presumption that the infection happened on the job.
A-3999 is sponsored by Deputy Majority Leader Thomas P. Giblin, D-34th District, Deputy Speaker John J. Burzichelli, D-3rd District, Assemblywomen Carol A. Murphy, D-7th District, and Joann Downey, D-11th District, and Assemblyman Jon. M. Bramnick, R-21st District.
It must come up for a vote.
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO respectfully asks all members of the Assembly to support this pro-labor legislation. The best way we can say thank you to our frontline heroes who have worked to provide essential services to us during this pandemic is pass this important reform into law.
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO urges all affiliates to TAKE ACTION and send a letter to their Assembly members asking them to support this legislation.
