Asbury Park, NJ – IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local 400, donated $25,000 in PPE supplies to the nine hospitals in Monmouth and Ocean counties between Thursday April 23rd and Monday, April 27th. The donations consisted of surgical masks, KN95 masks, hand sanitizer, and food.
“Our hospitals and healthcare workers are in the fight of their lives, and we all need to help out in any way we can. During this critical time, there is nothing more important than the protection of our healthcare heroes on the front lines fighting this virus.” said Robert Shimko, Business Manager, IBEW 400. “On behalf of our 600 members, we thank you for your service, dedication, and compassion during this coronavirus fight.”
IBEW Local 400 is an electrical union based in Asbury Park, NJ, with more than 600 current members who live and work in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
“We could not be more thankful to IBEW Local 400 for their immediate response and generous donation of surgical and N95 masks, hand sanitizer, and food for our hospitals,” said Bill Arnold, President, RWJBarnabas Health Southern Region, which includes Community Medical Center in Toms River, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood. “Support and donations from organizations like IBEW Local 400 are helping our frontline heroes provide outstanding care to our community and we are deeply grateful to them.”
