Collingswood – March 12, 2018:  Congressman Donald Norcross (D) NJ 1st. announced he will be seeking re-election for his seat this year at the Collingswood community center.

Norcross made the announcement surrounded by friends, family, community activist and political supporters.  When Norcross last ran he faced Alex Law in a primary that was heated but very one sided as Law lost by high margins.  However, Law did win Collingswood which is where he and his family are from.

“We need an economy that works for all Americans where we grow jobs and raise the wages. We need to stop taking a “one-size-fits-all” approach to education and ensure the next generation is not starting out their lives mired in debt. And we need to continue our work to ensure that everyone feels safe in their communities” Norcross said the the crowd that was there to show their support.

Congressman Norcross is an union electrician by trade, and the only member of the House that is from the IBEW.

“I’m running for Congress in 2018 to fight back against Trump and his billionaire backers and focus on what matters for South Jersey’s families” Norcross went on to say.

Norcross has been a strong advocate for labor, senior citizens, veterans affairs and revitalizing the City of Camden.
